Lovely people, lovely food.

Welcome to The Curious Kitchen.

My name is Christie Keulder and I live with my partner Special One, Selima the cat, two kittens named Leica and Sofia, and the neighbor’s two dogs in Windhoek, capital city of Namibia.

Life along the southwestern coast of Africa is slow, just the way we like it.

The Curious Kitchen ties together my three passions: food, travel and photography.

Its about eating well, having fun and exploring the unknown at the same time.

So if you like good food, own a backpack and like to use a camera, join me on this journey. I’d love to hear and learn from you. And if you like this, tell your friends, there is always room for one more at the table.

Hi Christie, thanks for your nice recipes. I made your pineapple beer but instead of sugar I used Stevia. It looks like beer but not sure whether one can drink it.
    Do you know that?

  8. Genious Mikhail says:

I like your three passions. I love food myself.

Hi Christie. I was reading your Curious Kitchen in today’s Namibian and you took me back many years to the same granadilla bomb ice creams of yester year. They were my favourite too. I remember the last time I bought one. It was about 1996 in Zoo Park and there was ice cream cart selling what I assume would have been the last of the stock. In some small way, life is a little bit emptier without granadilla ice creams. However, the ice cream carts and their bells are still around. Sunday afternoons in Avis …….

Did your mouth water? Did you laugh or cry? Let me know!
